What is Swappy?

Swappy is an event for Hounslow parents and children to exchange books and toys, socialise, and enjoy refreshments.

The idea is simple: bring your pre-loved toys or books, for which you’ll receive tokens, and then exchange those tokens for other second-hand books and toys. 

Please note: Only bring items you're willing to donate, as we can't guarantee you'll find something you desire in exchange, and refunds are not available. You can bring a maximum of three items. 

When is it?

26th April (9am-11am & 3pm-5pm): Item drop-off and token collection.

27th April (12pm-2pm): Exchange tokens for books and toys, socialise, and enjoy refreshments.

Token value guide 

Books: You’ll get 1 token for paperback books, 2 tokens for hardback books, and 3 tokens for 3D, pop-up children’s books.  

Toys: Toys will be judged based on three things: how big they are, what shape they're in, and how good the brand is. Each toy gets a score out of 3 for each of these (see details of the rating system below). Whichever category gets the highest score determines how many tokens you get for your toy. So, if your toy is small and in a used condition but it's a high-quality brand, you'll get 3 tokens.

 Event rules 

Eligibility: 

• The event is open to parents and children (under 12 years) who wish to swap toys. 

• All participants must adhere to the rules and guidelines set forth by the organisers. 

Toy Condition: 

• Only toys in good condition, clean, and with all parts intact are eligible for swapping. 

• Broken or damaged toys will not be accepted. 

Dispute Resolution: 

• Any disputes arising from the event will be resolved by the organisers, and their decision will be final.

Persons taking part in Swappy do so at their own risk. Persons with remaining tokens at the end of the event will not be entitled to any refunds or returns. 

London Borough of Hounslow accepts no responsibility for items swapped and gives no warranty as to the condition, suitability or provenance of any item swapped.
