We aim to raise awareness amongst local population.
The voluntary group was formed in 2003 as a result of local concerns that the unique park was very neglected and crime/ ASB was frequently occurring. As a result of my letter to the Council and Police, our group was formed with their support.
Over the years, we have held Summer Fayres annually from 2006 until 2016 which were very popular with local support, stalls, children’s games, insect hunts and live music etc.
In April 2023 2 picnic tables and seating were installed in the park available for all users. These were provided by LBH small grant schemes.
Currently the Group continues a regular dialogue with LBH Parks dept. and GS360. Frequent litter picks on Sundays have been made from Dec 2023 until June 24 which included lads from Boulders Academy working for their D of E bronze award which have now been completed. The park is regularly inspected and any issues reported with a good response from LBH Parks. Recently "Volunteering in Parks" held sessions which encouraged local volunteers to work in the park which went very well.
