Citizens Advice Hounslow provides free, confidential, independent and impartial advice. Our service is open to all, but we particularly support the more vulnerable people in our community.

What is this service?

General advice

Our advisers are trained to explore problems holistically and provide general advice on a range of issues, such as welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, family, immigration and consumer issues. They can guide you and support you to take action and tackle the problem yourself by empowering you with the knowledge you need. They can also investigate your problem if required and make calls, access online services and write letters on your behalf, if you are unable to do so yourself.

Specialist advice

Out specialist teams are on hand with the knowledge and expertise to handle more complex cases.

Specialist debt & welfare benefits advice

We offer specialist support with welfare benefits and debt, including complex casework and welfare tribunal representation. Debt management and insolvency advice and options including Debt Management Plans, Bankruptcy and Debt Relief Orders.

Debt relief orders intermediary

Our DRO Intermediary can make a Debt Relief Order application on behalf of our clients to write off debt up to £20,000, subject to eligibility.

Our Advice Projects

UC Help to Claim

We provide practical assistance with making a new claim of Universal Credit. Our dedicated advisers will help you through every step of an initial claim of Universal Credit.

Thames Water Project for Debt Advice

We have a dedicated adviser for debt advice and assistance with Thames Water issues, like water bills and arrears.

Trussell Trust Foodbank Project

With the devastating impact of Covid-19 on the livelihoods of many residents, we have contributed to the intiative of Citizens Advice with the Trussell Trust to set up a helpline and offer foodbank vouchers plus our advice to tackle the issues underlying the need for a voucher.

We operate our services from two main offices, one in the Chiswick Town Hall just off of Chiswick High Road, and the other on the 2nd floor of The Centre on the Feltham High Street. We also do outreach work at different locations across the borough.
