This week the ever so mighty Bees were endeavouring to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce for the first time in our history and with recent wins against solid opposition in both Chelsea and West Ham, why couldn’t we?!

**Watford vs Brentford **
On a glorious Easter bank holiday weekend the Bees took centre stage once more and started the game brightly by taking the game to their opponents. With just a quarter of an hour gone a member of our seemingly ever growing Danish contingent pounced inside the box and made it 1-0 with a simple tap in. Christian Norgaard has been sensational this season and rarely gets the plaudits he deserves. I think I speak for all Bees fans when I say I am happy he got his moment in the sun! The half ended with the away side one to the good, not least due to the excellent defending of Rico Henry, who on numerous occasions shut down promising Watford attacks. One downside of the first forty-five was an injury suffered by Brentford’s ever present colossus Ethan Pinnock, which unfortunately forced him off.
A contentious VAR decision overturned what seemed to be a correct offside call in the build up to Emanuel Dennis’ equaliser. From then on it was all Watford, bar an outrageous attempt from Ivan Toney which fell just wide of blushing Ben Foster’s post. As the game edged towards its conclusion, a point on the road was looking like an increasingly good result for the Bees. This opinion was further buttressed by two borderline unbelievable misses from Watford in the dying embers. But as we all know so very well, football can be a cruel, cruel mistress and Watford came to rue their missed opportunities. Ninety-five minutes on the clock, cometh the hour cometh the man. Mr Brentford, captain fantastic, Pontus Janson rose highest to score in front what can only be described as a jubilant away end. Janson capped off his celebrations by screaming “this is what it means” - the man loves Brentford, and boy do we love him! This moment serves as a litmus test of the agony and ecstasy of football. Watford hearts broken, Brentford in dreamland and the three points were coming back to West London for the third game in a row!
With games to spare it seems as though Brentford have secured their place in the Premier League for a further season. So many had us down as favourites to drop straight back down into the football league, but little did they know this fabulous little football club doesn’t conform to the expectations of England's footballing elite.
