Eye Care Liaison Officer (ECLO) support

ECLOs provide practical and emotional support to people who have been diagnosed with an eye condition to enable them to understand their diagnosis, deal with their sight loss and maintain their independence.

What is this service?

We can advise you on:

• Information on eye conditions

• Welfare benefits you may be entitled to

• Remaining in employment or re-training

• Helping you with emotional well-being

• Children's services and where to get help with difficulties at school

• Voluntary organisations and local support groups.

We are also able to explain the process of becoming registered as blind or partially sighted and the benefits of being registered.
