What is this activity?

Flood wardens act as our eyes and ears on the ground. They facilitate communication between the community and the Environment Agency and the Lead Local Flood Authority. Duties of a flood warden include:

·       Inspecting riverbanks and flood defences and reporting to the Environment Agency or council

·       Reporting any blocked or damaged drains which may increase the risk of surface water flooding to the council

·       Develop and implement a community flood plan

·       Provide local knowledge to prepare for flooding and following flood events

You will receive all the essential training you need for the role, and you will:

·       Develop transferrable skills and build your CV

·       Help improve your community’s flood resilience
