What is this service?

The House is open to visitors, admission free, Tuesday to Sunday from 12 noon to 5pm, with special openings on Bank Holiday Mondays. It is closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Groups may book private visits, for which a small charge is made, outside these hours.

Turnham Green station (District Line) is about 20 minutes’ walk away and Chiswick station (South West Trains) about 25 minutes. The 190 bus, which runs between Hammersmith and Richmond bus stations, stops in Burlington Lane close by, west of the Hogarth Roundabout, about 5 minutes’ away.

There are dedicated parking spaces along the A4 boundary next to the House in the Chiswick Gate estate, accessed from either the A4 or the A316. Or inexpensive parking at Chiswick House about 200m further west

There is level access into the garden via the double gates at the western end of the garden and two steps via the single gate beside the House. The ground floor provides a general exhibition and discovery room, which includes two digital presentations with an on-screen model of the whole of the building, as well as a small shop and an exhibition gallery. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet.

A programme of workshops and talks is provided from time to time for which a charge is sometimes made. Details will be available on the Hounslow Council website here.
