What is this service?

HOPELINK is the first service of its kind in suicide prevention. This unique two-way safety plan is simple to set up, secure and helps to save lives. It is user led, confidential and empowers young people to create a plan to keep themselves safe when they have thoughts of suicide.

Previously, advisers were able to discuss steps to help keep someone safe but were unable to send follow-up emails or texts because of confidentiality. Now, callers to HOPELINE247 can review their personalised suicide safety plan after their call with the adviser has ended.

Using HOPELINK helps to keep young people safe from suicide by acting as a reminder of the safety plan that they’ve talked through with the PAPYRUS suicide prevention adviser. It provides a space where vital information and written support services can be stored.
