The Society works to preserve the character of Bedford Park and to improve the amenities of the area and environment on behalf of the local community.
We are a charity working in the boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow to protect and restore the local natural and historic environment. We run projects to enhance habitats for biodiversity, conserve at-risk heritage sites, and support community initiatives such as Friends of Parks groups.

Improving and managing spaces for biodiversity and wildlife for people to enjoy is at the heart of what we do; from creating wildflower meadows to managing nature reserves and installing bug hotels.
We engage with residents and communities to implement projects that make a difference in their local area. Through connection, consultation and participation, we explore how communities want to see their spaces improved to support wildlife.
Our urban greening projects seek to restore unused green spaces to benefit nature and people. We are also currently working on improving nature corridors across south and west London, creating refuge sites between larger green spaces for local wildlife.

Friends of Parks groups are independent voluntary groups set up at a community level that work in partnership with the local authority to enhance, improve and promote parks. Inclusive and diverse groups that represent all aspects of the community achieve greater credibility, can help solve problems, increase awareness, and bring in funding for improvements and initiatives not available to the local authority.
We provide support to Friends of Parks and community groups, from assisting residents with setting up a group, to providing training and resources on governance.
If you are looking to set up a new project, expand and grow an existing one, network, fundraise or troubleshoot issues then talk to us about how we can help.
We act to conserve and educate about local heritage sites. We currently have two large National Heritage Lottery funded projects to conserve and engage people with the Bazalgette and Burton's mausolea.
We have taken extensive repairs to Grove Gardens Chapel, Richmond, to bring it back to communitiy use. We also care for other sites such as Kilmorey Mausoleum and St. Leonard's Court Air Raid Shelter, where we host regular open days.
Habitats & Heritage aims to support local organisations with heritage conservation projects, particularly for heritage at risk.
