Walkabout Wednesdays give you the chance to get outside and get some fresh air by coming to the Centre and visiting the animals.
We offer free programmes for young people (aged 13-25) to support their mental and emotional wellbeing. We do this by engaging in nature and creative activities, talking and forming supportive new friendship groups that last beyond the programmes.

The benefits of being outside in nature are plentiful – stress alleviation, relaxation and the reduction in symptoms of depression are just a few. It also helps social interaction so you make friends more easily and feel less isolated.
Why don’t you join one of our free programmes. Slow down and reconnect with yourself and your environment in this nature-based, discovery led programme.
Typical activities include walks, some light conservation work or gardening. This would be combined with a range of nature foccused creative activities designed to help improve mental and emotional wellbeing. You do not need to be good at art to benefit. There will be time to talk and share collective struggles if you wish to.
Check website for programme details.

I think this is the best activity programme that could be prescribed to young people with mental health issues.
