Support and advice for refugees and asylum seekers

Care4Calais provides direct aid to refugees and asylum seekers both in France and across the UK. Our Slough/Heathrow regional team has volunteers in the Hounslow area.

What is this service?

Our work has traditionally been with those seeking asylum. We support with clothing (including shoes, coats and school uniforms).

We provide befriending services where possible, to help isolated or depressed/anxious individuals.

We signpost to services, such as the NHS, English Classes, Migrant Help, and clarify what the individual can expect from the Home Office and housing providers.

We can link you up with translators for a range of languages.

Care4Calais also have an access team that support with specific legal issues. Currently these are: Rwanda letters, Bibby Stockholm barge, unaccompanied minors.

What we offer?

  • Prams, pushchairs, baby clothes and (if needed) birthing partners
  • Befriending and mental health support
  • Translation and interpreting
