Volunteering opportunities

There are many benefits to volunteering, you can learn new skills, gain valuable experience and meet new people.  If you feel that you can offer something back to the local community why not get involved?

Volunteer Roles

• Event Volunteer - We are looking for local people to help support local community events.  So far we have held events at Christmas and Diwali and a weekly programme of activities. You would help set up on the day, help promote sessions, ensure things run smoothly and some basic administration.

• Event Photographer - Do you have a keen interest in photography?  We are looking for a local person to take pictures at all of our exciting activities and events.  Photos will be used to promote the project and help demonstrate the impact it is making in the local area.

• Youth Action Team Member - The Big Local Youth Action Team (10-18yrs) work variety of exciting projects from organising events, community activities, making films or campaigning on the issues important to themselves and our local community. 

• HWBL Board Member - We are looking to recruit board members living on the Brabazon, Redwood and Harlech Gardens estate to help shape our strategy and steer our Big Local project If you feel that you can spare some time to attend our board meetings (once every 4-5 weeks) please get in touch.

• Newsletter & Social Media - Do you have IT skills that you think can helpful?  We are looking for a volunteer to help maintain and contribute toward our website, Facebook pages and Twitter feed. Get in touch if you think you can help

• Activity Support Volunteer - ​We are looking for local people to help support local community activities from our Sewing, Yoga, Multi-Sports, Youth Filmmaking and our Youth Action Team. Training and support is provided. All volunteers will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
