SEEN provide a safe space to support those facing unplanned pregnancy and baby loss, and we deliver healthy relationship and sex education to empower and nurture our community.
We are located in Twickenham and operate across Richmond Upon Thames, Kingston Upon Thames and Hounslow boroughs in South West London. Our aim is to enable individuals to have the ability, confidence and self-esteem to make informed decisions and be able to deal with past situations as necessary.
The services we offer are free, unbiased and confidential and include:
Listening and offering practical support for anyone with a crisis pregnancy
Providing 'Step by Step', a 10 step course for anyone suffering after pregnancy loss including abortion, miscarriage or still birth
Providing befriending support for anyone continuing with a pregnancy in difficult circumstances
Teaching RSE to pupils in local schools and teenagers in youth clubs
Delivering the ‘I Am’ 9 session relationships course for women in prison
Counselling at the termination clinic at The West Middlesex University Hospital
Our pregnancy loss course helps develop skills to deal with various life challenges: changing unhealthy ways of dealing with anger, shame and blame, developing self-confidence, resilience, communication, health and well-being skills.
Through our schools work we aim to educate and empower young people in order to reduce risky sexual behaviour and abusive relationships and learning about sexually transmitted diseases.
Our prisons work focuses on building self-esteem and making healthy relationship choices and will restart this Autumn in Bronzefield Women’s Prison in Ashford, Middlesex.
We seek to empower individuals to work through their situation by providing them with emotional and practical support and information. Respect for the client is central to our values and we take our lead from the client in terms of the issues they want to explore. Our listeners and educators work in a way that is sensitive and appropriate to each individual client and our service has proven valuable to people from various faiths and cultures.
