At our work preparation project, Dare to Dream, adults with learning and other disabilities can become more independent and gain the skills and confidence to progress into paid work.
If you are a young person with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), or an employer interested in working with people with a learning disability, we can help.

On a Mencap Training Academy supported internship, young people with education, health and care plans (EHCPs) are supported to move from education into employment.
Over an academic year starting in September, young people on the programme complete:
classroom learning about the world of work and skills needed for the workplace like how to make a CV and prepare for interviews, time management, and communication skills. Learners attend classes 1.5 days a week.
420 hours of work experience. This can be with employers in lots of different sectors. Employers we work with include Greene King, Mitie, Delfont Mackintosh, Guinness World Records, The Financial Times and Sanctuary Care.
We run supported internships across London. Our nearest programme to Hounslow is our West London programme which has a classroom based near to Ealing Broadway station. Work experience could take place nearer to home and we can offer work experience with employers like Evri who have a warehouse in Hounslow.
All our programmes are open to young people from neighbouring or nearby boroughs who are able to travel.
The programme starts each year in September/October and we are open to discuss potential enrolment throughout the year so please get in touch now if you would like to find out more and to start the enrolment process.
It's important that people are given the choice and opportunity to live life the way they wish and Mencap helps them do just that." - Kit Harington
