Skills development

The skills development program helps women to identify issues which are holding them back and is stopping them from seeking financial independence. It creates awareness around their limited beliefs through mentoring sessions, eventually helping them into employment or self-employment.

What is this service?

The programme is aimed at women, especially minority ethnic women, who are in receipt welfare benefits, have recently been made unemployed, pre- start-ups, start-ups or are running small businesses from home.

It identifies the skills they already have or skills they need to set life goals that will raise self-esteem and confidence, enhance employment prospects, and lead them to a more fulfilling and quality of life.

The programme offers:

  • 6 hours of 1-to-1 mentoring.

  • Focus on how to make money doing something you really love.

  • Identifying flexible working hours to suit family needs.

  • Reducing dependency on social benefits.
