Residents of Hounslow may be referred by their GP, other health professionals or simply be referred by relatives and friends. Self-referrals are also accepted.
This is a place where persons in need of prescribed services may attend for the purposes of low level day care. There are no overnight accommodation facilities and no personal care or medications are administered. We cannot cater for incontinence issues, high level dementia (low level is acceptable), or high levels of mental health issues. Wheelchair users both transferrable and non-transferrable are accepted. Disabled facilities are available on site.
The purpose of the day care facilities are to meet the assessed needs of individuals for social care, support, supervision or rehabilitation by reason of low level functional impairment, cognitive impairment, learning disability, age and low level frailty, and / or for people with family life circumstances or issues.
Activities are provided by the staff, volunteers and tutors from Age UK Hounslow and include Bingo, Art, Light exercises, Gardening, Board Games, Quizzes and others. There are also Television, DVD and projector facilities available. There are no extra charges incurred for the activities which take place daily.
Light Refreshments are provided each day including morning toast, biscuits and cake with tea and coffee served morning, lunch and afternoon. The cost for refreshments is included in the cost of attendance.
Lunch is provided and is a hot two course hot meal cooked on the premises at the Southville Community Centre. The menus are varied and rotate each four week period. Special diets within reason can also be catered for. The cost of lunch is included in the cost of attendance.
Trial Days are mandatory for all those wishing to attend. We organise the first visit day as a trial day for both the service user and staff to ensure that the facilities and support available match those required by the user. Please contact us for more details.
