The service involves Age UK Hounslow volunteers who have been recruited, inducted and trained to speak to elderly and vulnerable residents at home.  We aim to match a volunteer, called a `Befriender’ to the resident taking on board language issues / interests etc where possible.  All volunteers are security checked and all data regarding a resident is kept securely.

The allocated Befriender will call the resident at an agreed time on a regular basis.  We think it is important that the same person calls each time to enable a friendship to develop and enable us to identify any changes in the resident that may require additional support.

If you want any further information on the service for yourself or someone else please call us on 0208 560 6969 Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
